How the desk keeps personal notes

What we collect

When you write through the contact form we collect your name, email address, the sitting you chose, an optional preferred date, whether you already keep a chart notebook, and the message you send. If you later book a sitting we also keep attendance notes, the markets named in your plan, and payment references for the fee. We do not ask for resident registration numbers, account passwords, or broker logins.

Why

We use this information to reply, to hold a date, to prepare the study plan or chart hour you asked for, and to keep accounting records required in Korea. The legal bases are your request for a sitting, the contract for that sitting, and legal duties to keep tax records.

Retention

Inquiry notes that do not become a booking are kept for twenty-four months and then deleted. Booking correspondence and the written plan are kept for the length of the engagement plus three years, so the desk can answer a question about what was agreed. Accounting records are kept for the period Korean tax law requires. When a retention period ends, the notes are deleted or reduced to a form that no longer identifies you.

Your rights

Under the Personal Information Protection Act of the Republic of Korea you may ask to see the personal information we hold, to correct it, to delete it, to stop a particular use, or to receive a copy in a common format where that right applies. You may also complain to the Personal Information Protection Commission. We may need to keep a record where a legal duty requires it even after a deletion request.

International transfers

The desk works from Chuncheon. Email and website hosting providers may process messages on servers outside the Republic of Korea. Where that happens, the transfer is limited to what is needed to deliver the message and to keep the site available, and we choose providers who offer a contractual commitment consistent with Korean privacy rules.

Cookies

The cookie notice at /cookies/ describes the choice stored on your device. Rejecting that choice does not stop you from writing to the desk.
